Breach 2 Scenario Collection, v. 1.0
Hello again.
This is a collection of 42 scenarios I've been ablw to pull together
for Omnitrend's tactical wargame Breach 2. They are of disparate
origins, and range greatly in difficulty and complexity. (There's even
a 10-scenario "campaign" -- the "Assassin" series by Ken Morrow.) You
should have some fun mwith them.
A few notes. This is the third in a series of Breach-related scenario
collections. Archives of scenarios for the original Breach --
incompatable with Breach 2 -- have already been issued for the ST and
IBM, with an Amiga collection to follow shortly. (Soon as I finish off
two I've been working on forever.) Look for them elsewhere on this
board.
Breach 2 scenarios, on the other hand, are designed to be playable on
many platforms. As far as I know, these should run on the Amiga, ST
and IBM. (If you run into problems, please flag me at one of the
addresses below.)
The archive strcuture's pretty clear. The scenarios are in the
directory called "B2Scenarios." You'll find all the descriptive text
files (where available) in a separate directory "B2Text" -- save for
the two Assassin text files, which are in a sub-directory within the
Assassin sub-directory. Where there are none, you'll have to rely on
the in-game mission briefings.
I'd hoped for more, but there's just one version-specific file here. I
roped in a Windows 3.0 icon for Breach 2 (for IBM & compatables only,
natch) just as I was putting the finishing touches on this package.
It's in the "B2Misc" directory. In any future editions, this directory
will include also squad leader editors, utilities and whatever else I
(meaning you) can come up with.
Which brings me to a final point. I'm committed to updating these
archives as it proves necessary. The purpose is to provide an one-stop
library -- avoiding duplication and spent time searching -- so that no
Breach 2 player has to look farther than the disk box for a new
challenge.
If you've written an Breach or Breach 2 scenario you'd like to see
included in the collections, or have a text file that describes an
undescribed scenario, feel free to send it to me. Comments and
suggestions on this series are welcome, too.
(BTW, there's also an Empire maps collection out there, and I will
shortly embark on a multi-part collection of SimCities archives. And
after that, maybe TFH missions or Omega tanks.)
I can be reached by E-mail as P.OLAFSON on GEnie and as Peteroo on
People Link, and by US mail at 12 W. 104th St., Apt. 3E, NY, NY 10025.
Have fun.
